As someone who was torn between Anthropology and Fashion as a degree this brand is a dream come true! I recently got the opportunity to chat with the head of the brand, Eileen Lofgren via email as part of a university project and thought I would share Eileen's answers to some of my questions.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/3f/02/bd/3f02bd120442f6b9be7be2fbe313abb5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Love Sick Druzy Cow Skull - would make a bad ass tattoo" border="0" src="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/3f/02/bd/3f02bd120442f6b9be7be2fbe313abb5.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<i>Q: What is your ethos as a brand?</i><br />
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
A: Child of Wild is a brand that believes objects with past lives or cultural relevance have a depth that can be felt. In this day of accumulating 'a lot of cheap' Child of Wild comes from the philosophy that fewer quality possessions that speak to your soul are what makes your home and life fulfilled.<br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Q: What inspires your designs?</i><br />
<br />
A: Jewellery: we love to find antique or vintage ritual pieces...either it be Indian wedding jewellery or Native American jewellery. We are inspire by different cultures and their colourful religious/spiritual beliefs and traditions.<br />
Skulls: I often pull inspiration from history...either it be Marie Antoinette's love of lace and lavish clothing or the Art Deco buildings in Chicago. I like to research an era and pick out interesting pasts of it and try and physically exemplify the idea.<br />
<a href="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/5e/76/bb/5e76bba23907af7371b4d3d9c13acf7f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="boho, feathers + gypsy spirit" border="0" src="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/5e/76/bb/5e76bba23907af7371b4d3d9c13acf7f.jpg" height="312" width="320" /></a><i><br /></i><br />
<i>Q: What projects are you currently working on?</i><br />
<br />
A: We are coming out with a bridal line that is full of traditional Indian headdresses and amazing statement pieces.<br />
<br />
<i>Q: Do you have any plans for the company in the future?</i><br />
<br />
A: We would love to produce and design our own jewellery line. Pull inspiration from these cultures and give our own interpretation.<br />
<br />
<i>Q: How do you ensure that your materials and designs are ethically and culturally sourced?</i><br />
<br />
A: That is what we're known for! We will only but direct from an artist or group in these cultures. It takes SO MUCH TIME and is definitely more of a risk but sooooo worth it. We are headed to Turkey in a few days to go source more traditional Middle Eastern jewellery.<br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Q: Who do you consider your style icon?</i><br />
<br />
A: Oh man... I have always had an affinity for Eddie Sedgwick. I love early Cher (70s), Bridget Bardot, Nancy Sinatra. Currently I love Abbey Lee Kershaw, Sienna Miller and am honestly inspired by my blogger friends and clients!<br />
<br />
I would thoroughly recommend (and have before!) checking out their website, they ship all over the world (and also have excellent customer service) and the pieces are so worth it! There are some amazing statement pieces as well as gorgeous rings, bracelets etc. The skulls are incredible and would be an amazing feature in any room.<br />
<br />
Also big thanks to Eileen for this interview which is not only interesting but earned me a ton of extra credit on my uni course!</div>

What I'm most obsessed with though is Kylie Jenner's style. She is by far the edgiest of the Kardashian clan and I just love her laid-back, modern LA style. Think black, baggy and simple. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje0HMw4m6R6FPvp7xjj_zHBHivQSb7HkjBuNO7ZF_l5GLGTMcscm0DNNPHfILxWQNvt1U85afdIIJv_UaGNmlpDpGvZkn26t0JLgB-7q3pzo-Cd6LSABK8y1MpPuolw0BokAR7Ia7d3xzu/s1600/kylie-Jenner-wears-Pyrex-Religion-Vision-23-Flannel-screenprinted-Shirt-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje0HMw4m6R6FPvp7xjj_zHBHivQSb7HkjBuNO7ZF_l5GLGTMcscm0DNNPHfILxWQNvt1U85afdIIJv_UaGNmlpDpGvZkn26t0JLgB-7q3pzo-Cd6LSABK8y1MpPuolw0BokAR7Ia7d3xzu/s1600/kylie-Jenner-wears-Pyrex-Religion-Vision-23-Flannel-screenprinted-Shirt-1.jpg" height="400" width="201" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
High quality baggy t-shirts in grey or black are the staple item of this look along with some bad-ass stompy shoes with buckles (my favourite place for this style of shoe is by far <a href="http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/category/shoes-430/view-all-748#pageSize=200&catalogId=33057&viewAllFlag=false&sort_field=Relevance&langId=-1&beginIndex=1&storeId=12556&parent_categoryId=208492&categoryId=331499" target="_blank">Topshop</a>). High wasited distressed denim shorts with a cropped top and a flannel shirt round your waist is a great way to achieve Kylie's style. Pair it with tousled hair, some round sunglasses, a choker style necklace and some stiletto style nails and you have it down. The easiest place to find clothes in Kylie's style is the <a href="http://www.pacsun.com/content/kendall-kylie.html" target="_blank">Kendall and Kylie collection for PacSun</a>. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you're going for a more dressed up look go for some cropped black cigarette pants with a baggy vest or another cropped top. Throw you're hair in a messy bun, add a ton of rings, layered necklaces and some strappy sandals and once again you're set.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For make-up keep it natural but the key is the flick. I just went on youtube and looked through a couple of make-up tutorials which I recommend if you're going for a specific look like this!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's been a while because I've finally got a job and have had a lot to sort out with uni and student finance etc. as well as organising a months travel round europe (which I'm planning to do a style diary for) but I'm finally writing a new blog post! I wanted to do a round up of shops that I've been loving lately because it's that time of year when I start updating my summer wardrobe, and this year I'm also having to buy clothes for the eastern European summer for whilst I'm travelling. So I thought I'd share with you my favourite high street store summer collections as well as my current favourite clothing items.<br />
<br />
The first shop that I absolutely cannot get enough of this season is Free People. They have stores in the US, Canada and Japan only but they do international shipping online which is great for people in Europe. The shop is very boho, laid back, slouchy clothes that are just perfect for summer, think Coachella/lazy days at the beach. It's a little more expensive than the places I usually shop but it's great if you want a really good quality staple or investment piece. I love all their stuff but at the minute I'm obsessed with their bralettes, they look so good under a backless dress, a really slouchy vest or any sheer shirts/dresses that look a bit slutty with just a normal bra underneath. My favourites are the Intimately V-bra (below left, £58), I love it in white and black but it is also available in just black, and the Intimately Free People V-Wire Bra (below right, £28) in black/green or smoke however there are also 8 other colours to choose from.<br />

The next shop I've been loving is Miss Selfridge. I've always been a big fan of this shop and this summer it has once again lived up to my expectations. It is a UK store but again the website ships almost everywhere. The pricing in this store is very reasonable for the quality of the clothes and pretty cheap. At the minute I'm having a serious 90s phase and this store is doing gorgeous 90s neckline crop tops (below left, £8 block colour, £12 for print) that are so flattering and look amazing with anything high waisted. I'd recommend getting it in black as it's such a good staple item but they had a ton of other colours and prints as well. Envelope skirts are the fashion item of the moment in high street stores, I've tried on various versions in almost every high street store and the Miss Selfridge high waisted skort version (below right, £35) is by far my favorite. It has such a flattering fit and because it's a skort its much easier to wear, you don't have to worry about the whole world seeing your knickers! The skort comes in various colours but again my favourite is black. The two items actually go really well together as well!<br />

The third shop I'm going to talk about is Child of Wild which is actually an accessories store but I am so obsessed with it right now I wish I could buy everything they have. Again, it's a very boho look, quite tribal and vintage. As well as jewellery they do home-wear and bones. It's very expensive compared to my usual price range but it's great if you want to treat yourself (which I did with my first pay check!) or for presents. It is online only but ships anywhere although they are based in the US. My favourite piece by far is the Cleopatra's Desire Headdress (left, $125) which is imported from India and isn't for the shy! My other favourites are the Menefret Egyptian Anklet in gold ($28) and the Janissaries Hand of Glory which is an incredible slave bracelet imported from Turkey (below right, $46).<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Paisley Print Sundress by Kate Moss</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The next place I've been loving is Topshop which I was personally surprised by as I usually find Topshop overpriced and just not that nice. Obviously I love their Kate Moss collection at the moment although I don't think I would buy any of it as it's all a little too rock star for my taste and doesn't really suit my style, it has a kind of 70s vibe about it with all the tassels and sequins. My favourite piece from the collection has to be the Paisley Print Sundress (right £65), I just love the colours and print, I think it's so cute and summery! I'm loving the 70s style running shorts that are super fashionable at the minute and I picked up the lemon print ones from Topshop (below left, £12) because I thought the print was so summery and they are so comfy they're just perfect for travel. They're also really good value for money and surprisingly cheap for Topshop! I also really like the playsuits/jumpsuits they have in store at the moment (I find their tall section fantastic when it comes to jumpsuits since I'm 5"11!). They have loads of super cute floral playsuits but my fave is this Tropical Palm Print Boilersuit (below right, £65).<br />

The last thing I want to mention is American Apparel's Disco Pants. I really am not a fan at all of American Apparel, I think it's overpriced and the clothes are not particularly flattering or nice however, I had heard so much about their infamous Disco Pants that I just had to try them. The conclusion? They are AMAZING! they're so comfy, such good quality, so flattering and just look incredible. They suck in any wobbly bits in your legs and stomach and make you look so slim and the high waist is great for if you want to wear a cropped top or a loose baggy top, or pretty much anything! They are pretty expensive at £74 but they are definitely an investment piece and you do get what you pay for in this instance. They come in various colours but black is definitely the way to go in my opinion.<br />

In the past war, oil spillage, rehab, plus size models and black models have all been subjects of cover shoots that get the readers in uproar over whether or not this is distasteful or trivialising the issue at hand. This April, Sozzani chose domestic violence as her controversial subject.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPITDJBvraNT0t91ndqYjB5iaQv9oQ65h7E1_VTlKOV52HlH1Y9RppBuhEVgYlqijbMlNFLG_FEobphSi76OvaQpSk0di936iV4WkPjKtg2e4WY5uHoqF6LE088glUmGbt2_i_bGWc9TqI/s1600/4-141475_0x440.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPITDJBvraNT0t91ndqYjB5iaQv9oQ65h7E1_VTlKOV52HlH1Y9RppBuhEVgYlqijbMlNFLG_FEobphSi76OvaQpSk0di936iV4WkPjKtg2e4WY5uHoqF6LE088glUmGbt2_i_bGWc9TqI/s1600/4-141475_0x440.jpg" height="430" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Having seen the full story on Vogue.it (link below), the question that I personally was left asking myself was whether this was actually a shoot about domestic violence at all and not just beautiful recreations of horror movie scenes. Yes the female models are being attacked by a male in a private home but the image are so cinematic and glamorous that almost all feeling of an actual real-life issue is eradicated. It feels to me like they started with one concept, a horror movie themed shoot, and then later decided it might be a good idea to also address a current social problem. I think that fashion can be used to promote social issues and current topics but unfortunately in this instance it didn't work.<br />

I can understand where the critics are coming from with this point, the model draped across stairs in a red couture gown or cowering under the stairs in a saucy black number does lead to a sort of film-noir glamour mixed with Japanese horror. However, for me as I said above, the images seem to in fact just detach themselves from the subject altogether. Even the shoots title of Cinematic has no relevance to abuse at all and leads to the reader believing it is indeed just a shoot about horror films. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJHhwStrHXn3CvHf3LymANKsvKf80dZjot7eVjCVAQ59cE5n9A_wQhFfGS-PXXgaaZGOTJoesJZz7gB-Fef6vnkRfHOOC0ZiW5-SpXoCVRjRGX29j8gC0G10rFPjq3yYG5N7QiaAXfwkGj/s1600/5-30556_0x440.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJHhwStrHXn3CvHf3LymANKsvKf80dZjot7eVjCVAQ59cE5n9A_wQhFfGS-PXXgaaZGOTJoesJZz7gB-Fef6vnkRfHOOC0ZiW5-SpXoCVRjRGX29j8gC0G10rFPjq3yYG5N7QiaAXfwkGj/s1600/5-30556_0x440.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Regardless of whether or not this shoot is raising awareness on the subject of domestic violence, the heated debate that it's sparked is in fact raising awareness anyway. It's got people talking about the subject and through the debates online and in the media the public are being exposed to the issue. Perhaps this was Sozzani's plan all along, to create something so controversial people are debating it's purpose and raising awareness more than one photo story ever could by splashing it across all forms of media.<br />
<br />
Let me know what you thought of the shoot in the comments below! And if you haven't seen the images yet, you can find them here: http://www.vogue.it/magazine/cover-story/2014/04/cinematic<br />

It's casual, beachy, a little bit LA surfer girl, a little bit chilled out East Village NYC. Think Gillian Zinser (Ivy from 90210), Rumi Neely (Fashion Toast blogger). Lots of baggy tops and jumpers, cardigans hanging off one shoulder with oversized slip dresses. Perfect for this crazy spring weather we're having right now. Here are the three outfits I've been loving the most lately that I shot at my beach hut this weekend.<br />

In this picture I'm wearing my absolute favourite Topshop leopard print pyjama pants that I nabbed in the sale with a baggy navy vest (Primark) and a vintage light denim shirt. I've got my hair in a messy bun which is super easy to do and looks great with this style and I've accessorized it with a gold leaf headband. I've pulled the outfit together with some gold bangles, lots of mid finger rings and an ethnic print side bag and clear frame sunglasses (New Look).<br />

This look is perfect for a warmer day, but you can pair it with tights and it will still look good. I'm wearing a neonish lime yellow baggy vest (H&M) with light denim cut-off shorts (Pull and Bear) and a super baggy navy knitted cardigan (Primark). I've accessorized with a long gold pendant necklace and a navy hat. Hats are always fun to wear (provide it's not too windy!) and also keep you a little bit warmer!<br />

The slip dress is my current favourite item in my wardrobe, which I bought in New Look last week in the sale for £2!!<br />
It's super see-through so I'm wearing a black bandage skirt underneath and a black Victoria's Secret bra. This outfit is sexy but laid back so it's perfect for drinks at the pub or a house party.<br />

These mid finger rings are crazy fashionable right now and also look really cool! The more delicate they are, the better. If they're really thin then you can double up some of them to create really interesting looks. For this shoot I played with locations and the final image I selected for my portfolio is one with the brogues in my fridge. This was inspired by a quote by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City; 'I use my oven for storage'. Other locations included the Moroccan tiles in my bathroom, inspired by the film The English Patient and a barbecue full of burnt paper ashes. The shoes I used are white brogues with a pale lavender ombre on the toe by Alice Temperly. Once again, I hope you like the images and post any comments that you have!<br />

I have just applied for fashion styling and imaging courses at various universities in England and over the next few weeks will be attending interviews. I have sorely neglected my blog in the past few months due to preparing my portfolio for these interviews and now that my portfolio is finished I am going to post the images from each shoot on my blog (one shoot per day). I haven't really ever featured any of my own photographs on my blog before so be nice and give me feedback!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Today's post is the first shoot I did entitled 'The Cabinet of Curiosities'. The concept first came to me whilst I was re-reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets where Harry marvels at the bizarre objects in cabinets at Borgin and Burke's shop. My mother owns various animal skulls, which she used at art college for still lives, that are kept in a glass fronted cabinet in our dining room. The combination of these two inspirations came together to form the following jewellery shoot.</div>

I recently had the privilege of viewing back issues of Vogue from 1981 in The National Arts Library in London (which I would strongly recommend getting a free membership for to anyone living in London that's interested in Fashion). I found the differences and similarities between Vogue then and now so interesting that I decided to write a blog post about it. The interesting thing is not only the difference in fashion but also the differences in articles and audience, and also in price! Back then you only had to pay 90p for an issue whereas now the figure is racking up to almost £4.<br>
<br>
The obvious differences are in the appearance of the magazine. The lay out is more like a newspaper with small articles and advertisements on each page. Most of the features are printed in black and white, with some adverts and photoshoots printed in colour. Perhaps this accounts for the lower price as it's cheaper to print in black and white than in colour. The magazine also includes many fashion illustrations which is something we don't see very often in modern magazines. I like the use of illustration as it makes the link between the fashion and art worlds more prominent and gives variety to a publication by using multiple medias.<br>

In 1981 the magazine featured more adverts for shops and cigarettes than designers and there are fewer full page ads. Nowadays we have to wade through pages of designer campaigns before we even get to the contents. Personally I prefer the advertising in present day Vogue as viewing a designers advertisement is, to me, as informative as an article or a photoshoot because it shows you key themes in that season's collections.<br>

Within the magazine there are some key differences between<br>

Stereotypically winter is the time for subdued colours and rich fabrics. We all search for a Christmas party dress in a dark green or red made from velvet or covered in sequins. But why, when the world of fashion is ever changing and challenging the norm do we still stick to these traditions? When it's dark outside and everything is gloomy would it not be more sensible to brighten our days with colourful, bold outfits? This winter break out of the stereotype and instead of buying your standard LBD go for something bright to really stand out! I recently bought this bright pink jumpsuit (left) and will be wearing it all winter. Here are some of my favourite bright dresses around.<br />

The exhibition has broken all design museum records for the number of visitors it has received and after viewing it myself this becomes very understandable.<br />

The exhibitions tracks Sir Paul Smith's (he was knighted in 2000) career from a replica of the 3 by 3 metres, windowless room that he called his first shop in 1970 in Byard Lane to a video of the man himself discussing his latest menswear show in Paris. For me the highlight of the show was the replicas of Smith's office and studio (actually located in Covent Garden). The curator Donna Loveday told Vogue 'we really want to take you inside his head and show you what inspires him.' and through these sections of the exhibit I really felt like I had been inside Smith's mind. From the office desk stacked with books (below) to the studio tables covered in fabrics and vintage magazines inspiration was everywhere.<br />

Clothes feature more in this exhibition than his last exhibition at the museum in 1995. A circular corridor (that rather reminded me of the Mode offices in Ugly Betty) is lined with designs that Smith hand picked from the brands archives (below). The designs are split into four sections: travel, colour, print and British tradition, demonstrating the main inspirations and themes that run throughout Smith's work. At the end of the corridor is the video about Smith's fashion show that was held this year in Paris. This was particularly fascinating for a future fashion promotion student (aka me) but would still be interesting for anyone interested in fashion and again gives an amazing insight into Smith's head.<br />

Although the majority of my readers live outside the UK I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is near to London. The was one of the best fashion exhibitions I have ever seen, that opened a window into the designers mind and was informative as well as visually exciting and enjoyable. Time Out gave it 4 stars but I would give it 5! Let me know if you visited the exhibition and what you thought of it in the comments!<br />

High street brands collaborating with designers is becoming ever more common and H&M have been leading the way since 2004 with their Karl Lagerfeld collection. Since then the high street brand have collaborated with many designers including Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo and Lanvin. This winter they've teamed up with Isabel Marant to create a to-die-for collection that will be available in stores and online from the 14th November (only 2 days!!). Prices range from $29.95 - $399 which is excellent for people like me with not so much cash to splash! The launch party was held at Tennis Club de Paris on the 24th October and many famous faces were seen sporting Marant's designs including January Jones, Freida Pinto and the epitome of French chic and one of my personal style icons, Audrey Tatou.<br />
<br />
'What inspires me? It can be a gesture of a woman in the streets, it can be a stain on the carpet. It's things surrounding me that help me to understand what I have in my head. This collaboration with H&M was really a nice opportunity to re-do what I love in my collections and share this love with a wider public,' said Marant about the collaboration.<br />
<br />
H&M declared "The Isabel Marant pour H&M collection is an eclectic mix of boho elegance and rock ‘n’ roll insouciance. The spirit is quintessentially Marant: masculine tailoring is featured together with skinny pants, sweatshirts, loose blouses, airy dresses and textured knits."<br />

Here are some pieces from the collection. My favourites are the red patterned jumper and the grey jogging bottoms (directly below left and right).<br />

This trade show is dedicated to displaying the collections of up and coming
designers to buyers, press and all the others who work in the fashion industry.
At this show I saw hundreds of amazing collections but the one that stood out
to me the most was a collection called W by Wenjun created by the wonderful Li
Wenjun. I spent a good 20 minutes talking to her about her work and she was the
nicest person I met over the three days. After a few emails back and forth I am
writing my blog post about her and her collection.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">W by Wenjun is a very modern collection that
could easily be worn on the street but is still beautiful and fashionable. It’s
a combination of Parisian chic with simple cuts and exotic Chinese style from
Li’s heritage with the incredible fabrics that she uses. I asked Li a few
questions which she answered so here they are as well as the images of her
collection that she kindly supplied me with.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 13.5pt;">A: I began the first fashion internship in a very small designer brand
which basic in Paris, as a small company, I needed to work on many things, and
I learned how a fashion brand runs from A to Z. Then I began to do my
internship in the bigger company such as Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy, Kenzo,
Valentino, for those well-known brands, I sometimes worked in the showrooms,
sometimes worked as design assistant, sometimes for shop and administration, it
helps me to understand more about how fashion companies work as I always had an
idea to creat my own brand. After all those experience with the European
brands, I went to New York City for me last internship for 6 months, just
wanted to know more about NY fashion, to enlarge my view and experience.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br />
I've now been in Paris for around 5 weeks (blog writing had to be put on hold as it was rather difficult to settle in) and I feel like I'm already becoming a part of my dream world, the world of fashion! Last week I attended Vogue Fashion's Night out on Rue Saint Honore (left) and this weekend I've been at Tranoi trade show (a blog post about this event will be coming soon!) So having already spent a fair amount of time roaming the streets of Paris I thought I would put together a concise guide of Paris for those who love fashion but don't have the cash to splash! I will write a post about a new area each week so watch this space.<br />
<br />
The number one hot spot to visit and the area I'm going to start with is Le Marais, catch a line 1 Metro to Saint Paul and cruise up the escalator straight onto the street. Le Marais is the best place in Paris to find vintage clothing. My favourite store and the generally acknowledged best is The King of Frip. Located on<span style="font-family: inherit;"> R</span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">ue du Roi de Sicile this store has so many clothes inside and they are all reasonably priced (for a vintage store in Paris anyhow). I bought the cape coat pictured above in this store for 40 euros which given the quality of it is a total </span></span><span style="line-height: 18px;">bargain</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"> Along the same road there a few other vintage stores which are worth a pop in.</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimGiApDWms1pxyowmEIP-kCWVOf0dmoy8374Io_w7aJVyYXy1n64vyDJ9PV_6GVJMS2NO16xbCYdZgcPupNtB6r-02K3nulH6FCfuf-Dyneox7U-3B83eDsC8D3ge2o3bOLklX8hkkJ71g/s1600/king+of+Frip.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimGiApDWms1pxyowmEIP-kCWVOf0dmoy8374Io_w7aJVyYXy1n64vyDJ9PV_6GVJMS2NO16xbCYdZgcPupNtB6r-02K3nulH6FCfuf-Dyneox7U-3B83eDsC8D3ge2o3bOLklX8hkkJ71g/s400/king+of+Frip.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The King of Frip</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Once you've shopped and dropped make your way to <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 14.545454025268555px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">14 Rue Pavée </span></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; line-height: 14.545454025268555px;">to </span>L'eclaire de Genie for an absolutely splendiferous ecalire. With a new collection each season these cakes are the patisserie world equivalent of Chanel. This season I would recommend the Caramel Pop Corn eclaire which is crème caramel salted butter with caramel fondant topped with caramel popcorn. A bit pricey at 5 euros each but well worth it in my opinion. If you feel like really splashing out or taking home a tasty gift then they come in boxes of 4, 6 or 10. If you feel like something more savoury then you have to go with the falafel that the area is famous for. There are hundreds of stores and they are all cheap and tasty!</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjARGJ1vDzOAyN3KxmUEptULLNrWmZ2mYztECB2rKN2oQnW3bmFIruVnkTNT4XNkzB1UxEN7iUowmPvvtYlbi96OIaZPOe7QO7dFCMlXgzttwU4QyGuuBT6HjjzzVNzK1-TaujrFhpKYQd3/s1600/l'eclaire+de+genie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="340" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjARGJ1vDzOAyN3KxmUEptULLNrWmZ2mYztECB2rKN2oQnW3bmFIruVnkTNT4XNkzB1UxEN7iUowmPvvtYlbi96OIaZPOe7QO7dFCMlXgzttwU4QyGuuBT6HjjzzVNzK1-TaujrFhpKYQd3/s400/l'eclaire+de+genie.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.leclairdegenie.com/eclairs">http://www.leclairdegenie.com/eclairs</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Once you've purchased your eclaire/falafel make your way to the Seine and eat your food on the river banks. Once you've eaten it all up walk through the area, admiring the timelessly chic Parisians and gazing into designer boutiques until you reach the Pompidou centre. This is one of my favourite places to visit. The place outside is perfect for people watching and inside is a fabulous modern art collection that I find truly inspiring. </div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCWVttH6SHXUwQwITE0RJ8NMhBr0toH4aX6bkUsD0xZoPEY6WUrp_zcz7RY5hKe2l3CIloPdHkIcI7Xf7A4-Z2Aj_kFCLhyphenhyphengnFm_m8dM3LdakeZIADe75FUAAykcBrTl5_JzbBy-LUAEEn/s1600/pompidou.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCWVttH6SHXUwQwITE0RJ8NMhBr0toH4aX6bkUsD0xZoPEY6WUrp_zcz7RY5hKe2l3CIloPdHkIcI7Xf7A4-Z2Aj_kFCLhyphenhyphengnFm_m8dM3LdakeZIADe75FUAAykcBrTl5_JzbBy-LUAEEn/s400/pompidou.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.centrepompidou.fr/en">http://www.centrepompidou.fr/en</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
And so ends your day in Le Marais, if you feel like going out for dinner then I would recommend a creperie because what else would you eat in Paris?! I hope you've found this post interesting/helpful and please leave any questions in the comments below!</div>

Since then Kloss has graced the cover of multiple fashion magazines, walked for numerous designers and starred in campaigns for all the top fashion brands. Being such a fashion icon, it is inevitable that Kloss has to-die-for style. She has the 'off duty model' look down to a tee and always looks uber sophisticated. Karlie's look is all about comfort, think casual, lots of black and denim, minimal make-up and hair either down, swept up in a bun or a lose ponytail. A slouchy bag is great for carry everything you need and either pumps or boots are the best choice for footwear.<br />

This month I've been obsessing over three items of clothing in my wardrobe. The first is this navy blue pleated skirt that I found in a charity shop about a year ago. It went into my wardrobe and I hadn't worn it at all until last week when I rediscovered it. It looks great with a cropped top or with a tucked in shirt for a more Victorian look. Here I'm wearing it with a pastel mint green belt (Charity shop), white lace socks (Primark), brown brogues (Vintage store) and a pastel chunky necklace (Forever 21).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZxXyZdQUJcNxBDfpRU3hZ8w0VHHfoPHAoYxScVOGs8o6NEx7dWmSeq_ZSfigjFoFZ8UzIqXZvIxrognH3YrNKPz2LF2EFUCGg2ThbRwApro4_8_T84-43SL2SLN4rtqAk9EksD5mNtsSy/s1600/DSCF6073.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZxXyZdQUJcNxBDfpRU3hZ8w0VHHfoPHAoYxScVOGs8o6NEx7dWmSeq_ZSfigjFoFZ8UzIqXZvIxrognH3YrNKPz2LF2EFUCGg2ThbRwApro4_8_T84-43SL2SLN4rtqAk9EksD5mNtsSy/s640/DSCF6073.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>

<br />
The second item is this pair of hot pink tailored trousers from H&M. These are perfect for day and night. With this navy vest top (Primark), bike chain necklace (Oasis) and black studded heels (New Look, also referenced in my last wardrobe post!) it's perfect for day time and then when the evening comes I can change the vest for a sequinned black top, let my hair down and I'm ready to party!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The last piece is this floral maxi dress. I've had this dress for a few years now and I grow to love it even more every summer. There's something very Jane Austin about the tiny blue and orange floral print and the aged cream colour of the dress. Here I'm wearing it with a bone necklace that my uncle bought me in Africa and a pair of antique rose sling-backs. </div>

Someone recently said to me that you can tell what a person is like by their choice in cocktail. I'm not sure if this is really accurate but it got me thinking about dressing to suit your choice of drink. That doesn't make much sense but bear with me!<br />
<br />
First example, and my cocktail of choice, a cosmopolitan. The main icon for cosmopolitans is obviously Carrie Bradshaw. A cosmo drinker is bold, fashionable and exciting. Think bright colours, bold prints and very daring. Pick a girly dress but wear it with quite rebellious, punky accessories and sky high heels. For example, this dress (Topshop) with lots of big rings and this gold chain necklace (H&M) with these heels (Office).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs5WFmQ2GJMz813eEGWlTUtx0oRa0DiMTAKZ2jnlI9ywfyKyGugT-rfyy-mNwwA4qKtwphrE_ojBzOm5_lMsekX04bOrdEcsSX7tiZk7HZqJom-7OPg7rtEd8kOzNyKRr4d8XgKoC8vmzX/s1600/cosmopolitan.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs5WFmQ2GJMz813eEGWlTUtx0oRa0DiMTAKZ2jnlI9ywfyKyGugT-rfyy-mNwwA4qKtwphrE_ojBzOm5_lMsekX04bOrdEcsSX7tiZk7HZqJom-7OPg7rtEd8kOzNyKRr4d8XgKoC8vmzX/s640/cosmopolitan.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The second drink is a Martini. For inspiration look to bond girls, think professional, suave and mysterious. Stick to black dresses that are simple yet sexy, cutouts would add an exciting twist. Wear with minimal accessories and plain court heels. This black cutout maxi dress from Topshop is perfect. I would pair it with these plain black court heels (Office) and this teal contrast clutch (Accessorize).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqgzBBOY2POigkcA5cElxBqHMiUeaZXT6WFIAnkC3R0Rjt_oJtDuIEdvFOAvHV1eFo4comzk2YiYwt7Yt-yud60lPzMcdOC8ck3F6ruJG5QDZdE1myzWMhf9ybazfHOM3Cc6J4Rft5TNGQ/s1600/Martini.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqgzBBOY2POigkcA5cElxBqHMiUeaZXT6WFIAnkC3R0Rjt_oJtDuIEdvFOAvHV1eFo4comzk2YiYwt7Yt-yud60lPzMcdOC8ck3F6ruJG5QDZdE1myzWMhf9ybazfHOM3Cc6J4Rft5TNGQ/s640/Martini.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A mojito drinker is sophisticated and summery. I imagine Blake Lively as inspiration here, think very summery and casually fashionable, the kind of girl that turns heads without even trying and appears to not have a care in the world. Wear white, like this shift dress (Topshop) with embellished sandals like these (Accessorize) and a simple gold necklace (Miss Selfridge).<br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">I feel like the thing this blog is lacking is the contents of my
own wardrobe so I'm starting a new 'column' that I'll write every Tuesday about
the things in my wardrobe! As I'm only 18 (I'm actually writing this on my 18th
Birthday!!) and have my strict budget my wardrobe isn't exactly the most
extensive of expensive but I'm hoping that over the next year whilst actually
having a job I might develop a larger collection.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

which I think is the perfect explanation as to why they are such a crucial
element of a wardrobe. In this post I'm sharing with you my staple suede
heels. The first is the absolute necessity that every woman should own, a pair
of plain black court heels. Mine are from Primark and were only £8 but they've lasted me about 3 years already!<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

After this I spent a whole day deep in nostalgia watching classics from 'back-in-the-day' and also discovering some new animated faves (namely The Princess and The Frog and Tangled). Whilst watching these films I suddenly felt inspired by the costumes that the Princesses wore. Obviously it would be a tad strange to go prancing about in a ball gown but if the outfit inspiration came from a princess then surely it's still a royally good outfit!<br />
<br />
The first princess I'm using as inspiration is Jasmine from Aladdin. Crop tops and bralets are super fashionable this season so Jasmine was waaay ahead of the trend in 1992. A light blue cropped top like the one pictured below (New Look) is great for keeping a bit cooler and getting a nice belly tan in these summer months. Pair it with an oversized gold necklace and a blue headband like the ones below (Necklace: Asos, Headband: Deepa Gurnani).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4rhvCNB_j0rWSwF28ETZoNs9FOIMJ1bHLPzDo9sQFRhdTtWUqJjQNdo_ZaRG8Ua8Dr-hRDKdUJtqMhQudw4VBJ5rPBTjYwT4dGkK9zF0HSdagSEFl78OWFzXr-0a9lL5zqCMF6rPp4be-/s1600/jasmine+insp.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4rhvCNB_j0rWSwF28ETZoNs9FOIMJ1bHLPzDo9sQFRhdTtWUqJjQNdo_ZaRG8Ua8Dr-hRDKdUJtqMhQudw4VBJ5rPBTjYwT4dGkK9zF0HSdagSEFl78OWFzXr-0a9lL5zqCMF6rPp4be-/s400/jasmine+insp.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The next inspirational princess is Ariel. She's best known for her bright red locks but I was loving the huge blue bow she wears in her tresses whilst being a mute human. Tie up the front sections of your hair with a nice blue ribbon (you can find some at your local market or haberdashery) or you can purchase a clip with a ready tied bow if you prefer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC0rNUOh7l5fHI9_00Zj06hKOfXbdioy9ar38E1Z0U07jSkkwHjraAgiinB7wAqf_Rmx6wEO0HganOXqVm1IOz86YymNoLxqJamZfe6rr3dIZCyRJ2QSQhtk0F4XlH-UqWS92M0gLp5ufD/s1600/ariel+insp.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC0rNUOh7l5fHI9_00Zj06hKOfXbdioy9ar38E1Z0U07jSkkwHjraAgiinB7wAqf_Rmx6wEO0HganOXqVm1IOz86YymNoLxqJamZfe6rr3dIZCyRJ2QSQhtk0F4XlH-UqWS92M0gLp5ufD/s400/ariel+insp.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For most of the Princess and the Frog Tiana is a frog but at the start of the film, whilst working in a cafe, she wears a yellow blouse that gave me serious fashion envy. Something like this Aryn K button down is perfect for summery weather and feeling like a princess.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3QA2Xp4jNgFXpPBLyA2JvqFmffWkhTxelBfKBhh_79cW2E5cbfGHuPFVSKBPSgeK-nlo-ihggOYfgyXvdxaP15iMkO0dEfiSpgYdk_D7zTO5n5ruAJc9PwWADzEmhwnIWncWwtiSpNj8s/s1600/Tiana+insp..png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3QA2Xp4jNgFXpPBLyA2JvqFmffWkhTxelBfKBhh_79cW2E5cbfGHuPFVSKBPSgeK-nlo-ihggOYfgyXvdxaP15iMkO0dEfiSpgYdk_D7zTO5n5ruAJc9PwWADzEmhwnIWncWwtiSpNj8s/s400/Tiana+insp..png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Lastly Pocahontas. Tassels are still on trend so a tasselled top like this (To Love Kunaa) is fashionable and fun!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAYwh1EjbwECT4kIQwD8Yo9LwUV7rAA-fihcn9FySMnyMnX8p8wGq65gmAMu4QpIt5mvD7RHE3H_eSBTW1N4cr7f5Bzrnv6Tt1tm-i7hyphenhyphenxVKRL-iyDNtGg_YZm7a8gDbMs-zFyk2FXNPKW/s1600/pocahontas+insp..png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAYwh1EjbwECT4kIQwD8Yo9LwUV7rAA-fihcn9FySMnyMnX8p8wGq65gmAMu4QpIt5mvD7RHE3H_eSBTW1N4cr7f5Bzrnv6Tt1tm-i7hyphenhyphenxVKRL-iyDNtGg_YZm7a8gDbMs-zFyk2FXNPKW/s400/pocahontas+insp..png" width="400" /></a></div>

I have just finished my final ever year of school and so was busy with revision, exams and making plans for my gap year starting in September. I have been lucky enough to find myself a job Au Pairing for a lovely family in... PARIS!!! So starting from September I will be able to Blog about fashion from my favourite fashion capital in the whole world!! Now, on to this week's blog post!<br />
<br />
Living in England, I spend the majority of the year in tights and jumpers so when the sun comes out, like every Brit, I go crazy and pull out all of my summer outfits before the sunshine gets the chance to escape again! This summer my staple item is a block colour maxi dress. It might not be the most up-to-the-moment fashionable piece but it is an investment item that will be stylish every summer. If you are bold then choose a bright colour like yellow or hot pink. If you're less confident with your clothes then go for a pastel pink or a soft blue. Here are some of my faves:<br />

I was fortunate enough to find a pink maxi with pocket detail in Primark for just £5! (Something that is great given my still limited student budget). This style of dress is really easy to transition from day to night and so is perfect for those holiday capsule wardrobes. I styled my dress with flip-flops and aviator sunglasses for day time and then dressed it up with tan sandles with a slight heel and an Aztec necklace for evenings:<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>

Chloe Grace Moretz is undoubtedly a great actress, at 16 she already has 11 awards under her belt. But she also has amazing style! She's frequently invited to fashion shows and events and has been spotted on the front row on numerous occasions. Quite dark, and often with masculine tailoring her wardrobe is amazing. She often wears dark colours and trousers and has that effortlessly cool look down to a tee. The key item in Moretz's style is black skinny jeans which she pairs with a jumper or a shirt for a casual look or a t-shirt and jacket for something a bit more classy. Bags play a big part of Moretz's look as well as sunglasses or a scarf.<br />

This is the second friend I've known who as suffered from these problems and it occurred to me that if you are a young female it is most likely that you will know at least one person who struggles with eating disorders, even if no-one is aware of it. I didn't want to make a great long post about this as I haven't suffered with it personally and don't have any medical knowledge about it so I don't feel that I'm in a position to discuss it in such a way. I just wanted to put across some thoughts and opinions that have occurred to me on the subject of eating disorders.<br />
<br />
The fashion industry employs overly skinny models which has had an impact on our society, causing the image of a 'perfect' woman to become warped into unachievable thinness. Although this is not the only reason for eating disorders, it is something which certainly does not help those who suffer from conditions such as anorexia and bulimia. Eating disorders are at the root mental issues and many people do not understand so disregard them as attention seeking and pathetic. There are organisations working to help people better understand eating disorders and this is something which needs to continue.<br />
<br />
Although many of the top supermodels are still incredibly thin there has been substantial development in the fashion industry of not using size zero models. Many fashion weeks and houses such as Madrid Fashion Week and Prada have banned models under a certain BMI from walking in their shows. In Israel it is illegal to employ any model with a BMI under 18.5. There is still a long way to go before the image of 'perfection' is restored to a healthy, any size woman but there are clear steps in the right direction.<br />
<br />
If you suffer from, or know anyone who suffers with an eating disorder, or just want some more information on it then these are some websites I've found helpful:<br />

I remember when I started being interested in fashion I wasn't AS scared because I was only around 13 so the choice of 'child' fashion magazines was fairly limited to Teen Vogue. But when I think about it, Teen Vogue gets it so right that there don't need to be any other fashion magazines for young people. If you have a child or know someone between around the ages of 11-14 who is interested in fashion then they should definitely be reading this magazine!<br />

<br />
<br />
It soon came to a point at which I wanted to start reading more 'adult' fashion magazines. Aside from Vogue (which I will return to later) probably the most popular fashion magazine in England is Company Magazine. It has accessible, street-wearable fashion ideas that are perfect for inspiring everyday or evening wear. The emphasis is based much more on street style than haute-couture. It successfully breaches the gap between glossy magazines like Vogue and fashion blogs. I would recommend this magazine to anyone with a casual interest in fashion who wants to know the street trends. Company is also the most affordable (£2.50) so this is usually the one I buy each month.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Nylon February 2013</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
As I became more and more interested in fashion I began to explore different areas and branched out my reading matter to more varied magazines like i-D, Haper's Bazaar and W magazine. In this exploratory period I discovered Nylon. This is probably my favourite magazine that I read. It always features current and interesting people. As well as great fashion features it has articles on music, television and films. It's a little more indie than many others and although it is quite expensive in England (£4.50), it's definitely worth it! I would recommend this magazine to anyone and everyone!<br />
<br />
The last magazine I want to talk about is Vogue. The original fashion magazine, the fashion bible, Vogue is THE fashion magazine. Even people who know nothing about fashion know this. The main complaint people have with Vogue is that there are too many advertisements however ads are not only an important source of revenue for the company but also can help you to stay on-top of trends. Fashion houses will change their advertisements to reflect that season's collection and so can be used as inspiration. There are 18 countries that produce a Vogue each month, the most famous/popular being American Vogue, Vogue British and Vogue France. Each version has an individual style which reflects the country's general style (e.g. French Vogue features a lot of black clothes, nudity and smoking). The three just mentioned are must-reads each month for anyone seriously into fashion but I would also recommend Italian, Russian and Korean Vogue as others to check out from time to time.<br />

I own hundreds and tend to go out and buy a new one every time I get a bit of money. I frequently plan my entire outfit around the latest colour of varnish I've fallen in love with. I love nail varnish as it can alter the entire tone of an outfit. If you're wearing a little black dress it can become gothic with black nails, poppy and bright with some vibrant pink nails or classy with a classic red. Following on from my 80s theme (check my last post!) this week I've been obsessed with Barry M's shade 'Silver Multi Glitter' (shade 338). It's a wonderfully sparkly silver with small glitter particles so it's not to over the top. It's also amazingly versatile as you can layer it over a colourful base and the colour will show through giving the glitter a whole new look. I'm currently wearing it with just a clear base coat underneath:<br />

This week I started watching 'The Carrie Diaries', a prequel TV show to Sex and the City. Although the programme cannot be recommended for its script or cinematography, it has an amazing costume department. They have created a wardrobe that highlights the good elements of 80s fashion and leaves things such as rat-tails and mullets in a forgotten corner where they belong. The snazzy outfits have had me in an 80s whirl of bright colours and scrunchies all week. Think bright block colours, animal prints, excessive sequins and oversized accessories. Here are some of my favourite looks:</div>

The episode was entitled 'Serena Also Rises' and featured New York Fashion Week. I was transfixed by this seemingly glamorous industry and from then on my love for fashion just grew and grew. All pocket money went on issues of Teen Vogue and then later Vogue, Company and Harper's Bazaar as I began to understand more of the content.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've watched the rise of fashion blogging from my bedroom at home and I've finally gained the guts to start my own blog. They say that every successful blogger has an angle and it seemed very clear to me what mine should be. Being an 18-year-old living at home still and struggling to finish my final year of high school I am permanently skint, but somehow I still manage to own an extensive wardrobe and jewellery box. My angle? Working fashion on a next-to-nothing budget!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I don't think I'm overly knowledgeable on fashion and I am always learning more about designers, history and design itself. I keep an eye on the trends but rather than copying catwalk looks I like to draw inspiration from them and form my own interpretations! Inspiration can be found everywhere and that's something I want to share on this blog.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So watch this space for posts on what's been inspiring me and what outfits I've managed to conjure up from a tenner!</div>
